Perhaps nowhere do we imitate God more or as well as we do when we are showing mercy.  Jesus tells us the merciful will recieve mercy.  So, the call on the life of a believer is to walk in Christ mercy with others.  It is this, Christ mercy through His Spirit, that allows us to give and receive mercy because it is the perfect mercy of God, not the false mercy of the prideful soul.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, March 12, 2017.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Pastor Greg moves us to what is perhaps the seminal teaching moment of Jesus' earthly ministry, the Sermon on the Mount.  In the next few weeks, we will anchor ourselves in the beatitudes which begin this teaching by Jesus.  In this sermon, Blessed Disciple 1, Pastor Greg explains the deeper meaning of the word blessed, and looks at the first beatitude - Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, February 5, 2017.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening.

A new year brings a new sermon series.  In this podcast, Pastor Whaley begins a sermon series meant to go along with the church's New Testament Reading Plan for 2015 entitled Every Day with Matthew.  As we begin a new year, there is a lot of talk about "the good life," but in Matthew 5, Jesus speaks of something much greater - the blessed life.  This sermon was preached on Sunday, January 4, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening!
