Perhaps there is no better juxtaposition between the rule of law and the reign of grace than the latter part of Hebrews 12.  It is there the Hebrew writer compares the kingdom of Mt. Sinai with the kingdom of Mt. Zion.  In this sermon from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley explores the difference between the two and sets forth truth that the greater kingdom of Christ speaks better than Sinai, cannot be shaken, and is expressed in thankful, adoring imitation of the author and perfecter, Jesus Christ!  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 28, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Hebrews 11 is often referenced as the hall of faith.  Hebrews 12 makes the transition to a greater faith through Jesus Christ.  In this sermon from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley considers Jesus Himself as the greater faith.  He is the faith which receives the promise of sure salvation unknown to the prophets, the faith which can do its complete work, and the faith which can only be learned through obedience.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 21, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Judgement is a terrifying thing.  In this sermon from the Greater Than series, Pastor Greg returns to Hebrews 10 to examine the judgement of God.  There we find willful disobedience tramples underfoot the cross of Christ, regarding as unclean the blood of the new covenant with God.  It is an insult to God's grace. Yet, judgement has been given to Jesus and His is a greater judgement.  What we learn that it is indeed terrifying to fall into the hands of God, but it is an altogether wondrous thing to rest ourselves there.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 14, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

God is a maker of covenants.  In this sermon, we turn to Hebrews 8 to hear how the new covenant relationship between God and man is based on Jesus Christ and not on any other person or thing.  This new covenant in Christ results in God's word being birthed into our hearts and minds, God's people being grafted into His family, God's spirit being the only teacher we need, and God's mercy and forgiveness being available freely and completely.  All of this because of Jesus is the greater covenant of God!  This teaching was presented on Sunday, July 31, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Pastor Greg has already looked at I Samuel 16 during the Tragedy of King Saul series.  Today, he takes a look at Samuel's anointing of a new king with an eye, not toward the diminishing King Saul, but to the coming King David, himself a picture of Jesus.  In this anointing, we find a picture of an adoring God who loves us too much to leave us to our own devices.  With such an adoring love, how can we not respond to Him by giving ourselves completely to Him?  This teaching was presented in Sunday, April 3, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!
