Students of our post-modern age face more confusion about who they are and what is important than ever before.  With this in mind, Pastor Greg shares a pastor's heart through the beginning of this sermon series entitled Letters to the Family.  The message is presented as a letter to the students and is based on four important questions for every student: Who defines you? When are you a success?  What is love?  What is truth?  The answers to these questions will mold and shape a young person for their entire life, so it is imperative that we consider God's answer to these questions.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, May 1, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

In light of the many questions for kingdom living we have explored so far in this sermon series, we come to the pertinent and lasting question for believers in the 21st century - How, then, shall we live?  Peter was a disciple of Christ who wrote and lived in a time much like the one in which we now live, a time of cultural diversity and some hostility towards the believing and confessing church of Christ.  In I Peter 3, he gives us instruction on the disciple's life among a pluralistic world.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, November 1, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

Why are we here?  It is an age old question, but one that takes even more urgency in the post-modern melee of meaninglessness.  In this sermon from the Questions for Kingdom Living series, Pastor Whaley takes a basic outline from a book entitled "The Purpose Driven Life" and explores it as framework for finding our purpose in today's world.  When we understand we are planned for God's pleasure, formed for God's family, created for Christlikeness, shaped for God's service, and made for a mission, God's unique purpose for our lives will be made clear.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, October 25, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

We all know the biblical imagery in Revelation 21 used to describe heaven such as streets of gold and pearly gates.  Yet, immediately after those words, John give us a clearer picture of heaven that moves beyond mere physical description into the forever, kingdom life of the believer.  If we believe Jesus' prayer for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, then we can know what heaven is really like by seeing and living the kingdom life of Christ here and now.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, October 18, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

The world's idea of hurt is to just deal with it, to endure it purposelessly.  The world says, "Pain we can help, but for hurt, there's nothing we can do." In this teaching from the Questions for Kingdom Living sermon series, Pastor Whaley reminds us from the book Job that God is always with us in our hurt, He is always working in us through our hurt, and He is always winning through us over our hurt.  True healing begins when we give our hurt over to the only One who can safely take it and transform it into something holy and something sacred.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, October 11, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

True forgiveness is an elusive concept in the world of equations and experiments in which we are currently living.  In this sermon from the Questions for Kingdom Living sermon series, Pastor Whaley examines what true forgiveness looks like in the person of Jesus Christ.  In the doing we come to understand that one of the reasons our world is bereft of a true understanding of forgiveness is that Christians are not displaying this type of forgiveness in their own lives for all the world to see.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, September 27, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

As we continue our Questions for Kingdom Living sermon series, we examine one of the most important questions of our age, or any other.  Who is Jesus?  Philosophers seek to answer this question with ideas.  Scientists seek to answer this question with equations and experiments.  Many of us seek to answer the question from the mixed-up quagmire that is our emotional self.  But, Jesus answers this question for us in His word - repeatedly.  If we are truly seeking an unfiltered answer to this most important question, we must deal with with what He says first and foremost.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, September 6, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

Pastor Whaley returns to his Questions for Kingdom Living series with this look at the very opening words of scripture in Genesis to ask, "Where do we come from?"  While a secular world focuses on determining the indeterminable 'how' of our origins, God's word firstly reminds us of the 'why' we are here. And that is what we are really asking when we ask, "Where do we come from?"  If we believe ourselves to be a cosmic accident, then nothing matters.  But if we are a here for a purpose, then everything matters.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 30, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!
