We begin a new sermon series dealing with eight words for experiencing intimacy with the Father.  It is called Practicing Presence and the first word we deal with is patience.  Using Psalm 37:3-7 as a focus text, Pastor Greg explores the active patience of God, contrasts it with the false patience of the flesh, and then gives us words to help us experience God through His patience.  Patience is begins in humility, it is based in hope, and it is steeped in prayer.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, September 25, 2017.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Ephesians 3:14-19 contains the prayer of Paul for every family.  In this Letter to the Family, Pastor Greg shares how important family is to the Father and how close the family is to the heart of Paul.  The prayer for every family is for each person to be strengthened in their inner man, for Christ to dwell in each heart, that each person may comprehend the greatness of God's love and know the surpassing love of Christ, and finally, for family members to be filled up to all the fullness of God.  It may be the most important prayer we can pray for our families.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, May 22, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

What does prayer do?  Believers and seekers alike struggle with true understanding.  Yet, Jesus gives a model prayer which not only provides a template for conversing with the Father, but it also gives a picture of the things that mark the kind of prayer God desires.  In this teaching from the Questions for Kingdom Living sermon series, Pastor Whaley examines the Lord's Prayer in order to empower our conversations with God to more fullness.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, September 20, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

How are believers to pray in these uncertain days?  Continuing our journey to Easter Sunday, Pastor Whaley takes us to another psalm of assent.  Psalm 122 is one of the psalms used by the ancient Israelites as they made their way to the temple for worship.  It is a prayer of peace and it is a prayer that God always honors and a prayer that is always right to pray, no matter the circumstance.  This sermon was preached on Sunday, March 1.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening.
