In this teaching from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley turns to Hebrews 4 to speak on the rest of Christ.  In a world where everyone is seeking to rest themselves in something, the writer of Hebrews reminds us a perfect rest remains for those who know the Christ.  In His rest, we walk in righteousness rather than weariness, we are sensitive to His leading rather than suspicious, and we can let go of our labor and take His light and easy yoke upon us.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, July 10, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Lousiana.  Thank you for listening!

On Easter Sunday, our sermon series shifts from King Saul to King David.  Where Saul was a picture of the man of the flesh, King David is a picture of the Messiah.  In this first teaching from the series, Salvation in a Sling, Pastor Greg compares David and his confrontation with Goliath to Jesus and His confrontation with death.  Like David, Jesus left His Father, refusing the weapons of the world, and utterly destroyed death and sin for all time in His battle on the cross.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, March 27, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

The world's idea of hurt is to just deal with it, to endure it purposelessly.  The world says, "Pain we can help, but for hurt, there's nothing we can do." In this teaching from the Questions for Kingdom Living sermon series, Pastor Whaley reminds us from the book Job that God is always with us in our hurt, He is always working in us through our hurt, and He is always winning through us over our hurt.  True healing begins when we give our hurt over to the only One who can safely take it and transform it into something holy and something sacred.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, October 11, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

How are believers to pray in these uncertain days?  Continuing our journey to Easter Sunday, Pastor Whaley takes us to another psalm of assent.  Psalm 122 is one of the psalms used by the ancient Israelites as they made their way to the temple for worship.  It is a prayer of peace and it is a prayer that God always honors and a prayer that is always right to pray, no matter the circumstance.  This sermon was preached on Sunday, March 1.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening.
