In this final teaching from the Tragedy of King Saul series, Pastor Whaley follows Saul to his prophesied end and the tragedy becomes complete.  Even in death, we learn the devastating wages of sin and how it impacts the kingdom of God and those with whom we share life.  But, it doesn't have to be this way.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, March 13, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

The people of God demanded a king in order to be like the other nations.  God gave them what they wanted in spite of their rejection of Him.  God gave them Saul, a man whose heart was not after God, but was after the flesh.  And when the time came for Saul to rise to the kingdom, the people found him hiding in the luggage.  In this new sermon series for 2016, we learn three important truths.  If you are intent on having your own way, God will allow you to have it.  True love woos the heart, rather than forcing it.  Second, we see from Saul that with God, it is always about the heart.  Saul chose to follow his flesh rather than the new heart God had given him.  Finally, we learn that we have a choice to rise to the kingdom of God, or we can hide from it like Saul did.  This teaching was given on Sunday, January 10, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!
