Perhaps there is no better juxtaposition between the rule of law and the reign of grace than the latter part of Hebrews 12.  It is there the Hebrew writer compares the kingdom of Mt. Sinai with the kingdom of Mt. Zion.  In this sermon from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley explores the difference between the two and sets forth truth that the greater kingdom of Christ speaks better than Sinai, cannot be shaken, and is expressed in thankful, adoring imitation of the author and perfecter, Jesus Christ!  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 28, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Hebrews 11 is often referenced as the hall of faith.  Hebrews 12 makes the transition to a greater faith through Jesus Christ.  In this sermon from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley considers Jesus Himself as the greater faith.  He is the faith which receives the promise of sure salvation unknown to the prophets, the faith which can do its complete work, and the faith which can only be learned through obedience.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 21, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Ephesians 3:14-19 contains the prayer of Paul for every family.  In this Letter to the Family, Pastor Greg shares how important family is to the Father and how close the family is to the heart of Paul.  The prayer for every family is for each person to be strengthened in their inner man, for Christ to dwell in each heart, that each person may comprehend the greatness of God's love and know the surpassing love of Christ, and finally, for family members to be filled up to all the fullness of God.  It may be the most important prayer we can pray for our families.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, May 22, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

This installment of the Letters to the Family comes from the book of Titus and is specifically for Senior Adults.  Pastor Greg reminds us that seniors of all people are to be sober, serious, sensible, and sound in faith, love and perseverance.  As the spiritually mature, senior adults are examples to both the young women and the young men in the faith.  In a world that is afraid to grow older, believing senior adults serve as bulwark for the Christian community.  For all of those who think they are too old to have a part in the kingdom, or that they have done their service and are no longer needed, the scripture gently reminds - you are not done, yet!  This teaching was presented on Sunday, May 15, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

As confusing as it is to be a student in today's world, it is perhaps just as confusing to know what being a mom is like.  Continuing in our sermon series, Letters to the Family, Pastor Greg pens a letter to moms about what it means to be a kingdom mom.  The scriptures teach us that motherhood is a calling, not a culture; sacrifice, not selfishness; and persistence, not perfection.  Mothers are one of the most important anchors of any family and one of the best physical pictures we have of God's love in our lives.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, May 8, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalsua, La.  Thank you for listening!

Students of our post-modern age face more confusion about who they are and what is important than ever before.  With this in mind, Pastor Greg shares a pastor's heart through the beginning of this sermon series entitled Letters to the Family.  The message is presented as a letter to the students and is based on four important questions for every student: Who defines you? When are you a success?  What is love?  What is truth?  The answers to these questions will mold and shape a young person for their entire life, so it is imperative that we consider God's answer to these questions.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, May 1, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!
