Perhaps there is no better juxtaposition between the rule of law and the reign of grace than the latter part of Hebrews 12.  It is there the Hebrew writer compares the kingdom of Mt. Sinai with the kingdom of Mt. Zion.  In this sermon from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley explores the difference between the two and sets forth truth that the greater kingdom of Christ speaks better than Sinai, cannot be shaken, and is expressed in thankful, adoring imitation of the author and perfecter, Jesus Christ!  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 28, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Pastor Greg begins a new sermon series for the summer.  The sermon series is entitled, "Greater Than.." and each sermon will be drawn from the book of Hebrews.  Over and over again, the book of Hebrews calls us to the supremacy and the sufficiency of Christ as Lord and Savior.  In this teaching, Pastor Greg examines the opening words of Hebrews to find that our God is an ever-speaking God who has spoken is most powerful word not through the law, but through the divine man, Jesus Christ.  It is through Jesus that we learn  what God is like and just how incredibly God loves His children.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, June 12, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

Our sermon series, Questions for Kingdom Living, continues with a question on the forefront of many minds and hearts in today's world - What is this world coming to?  The way of the world is doom and gloom, but the message of the gospel is hope from despair.  Using Hebrews 6:16-19 as a focus text, Pastor Whaley reminds us of our hope for the world in Christ.  God's unchangeable purpose of rescue and His immutable word in Christ are the basis for an unwavering hope.  That same hope is an anchor, steadfast and sure, for all those who seek it.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, November 8, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

True forgiveness is an elusive concept in the world of equations and experiments in which we are currently living.  In this sermon from the Questions for Kingdom Living sermon series, Pastor Whaley examines what true forgiveness looks like in the person of Jesus Christ.  In the doing we come to understand that one of the reasons our world is bereft of a true understanding of forgiveness is that Christians are not displaying this type of forgiveness in their own lives for all the world to see.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, September 27, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

As we continue our Questions for Kingdom Living sermon series, we examine one of the most important questions of our age, or any other.  Who is Jesus?  Philosophers seek to answer this question with ideas.  Scientists seek to answer this question with equations and experiments.  Many of us seek to answer the question from the mixed-up quagmire that is our emotional self.  But, Jesus answers this question for us in His word - repeatedly.  If we are truly seeking an unfiltered answer to this most important question, we must deal with with what He says first and foremost.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, September 6, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

Pastor Whaley returns to his Questions for Kingdom Living series with this look at the very opening words of scripture in Genesis to ask, "Where do we come from?"  While a secular world focuses on determining the indeterminable 'how' of our origins, God's word firstly reminds us of the 'why' we are here. And that is what we are really asking when we ask, "Where do we come from?"  If we believe ourselves to be a cosmic accident, then nothing matters.  But if we are a here for a purpose, then everything matters.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 30, 2015.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!
