We all have a great need.  Much of our lives is spent trying to fulfill that need in us.  Whether we truly know it or not, this great need is of a savior, and only Jesus satisfies it.  We are hungering and thirsting for Him, but we often try to satisfy ourselves with other, lesser things and this leads to unfulfillment.  Only Jesus meets our need.  Only He can truly satisfy.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, March 5, 2017.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Lousiana.  Thank you for listening!

Perhaps there is no better outward mark of the believer than the practice of generosity.  In this continuing sermon series, Practicing Presence, Pastor Greg takes us to I Corinthians 8:7-12 to explore this very important but oft-forgotten virtue of the believer.  We learn generosity from the generosity of Jesus, who, though He was rich became poor for us.  Through His example, we are called to live generously, to give generously, and to believe generously.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, September 25, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Perhaps there is no better juxtaposition between the rule of law and the reign of grace than the latter part of Hebrews 12.  It is there the Hebrew writer compares the kingdom of Mt. Sinai with the kingdom of Mt. Zion.  In this sermon from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley explores the difference between the two and sets forth truth that the greater kingdom of Christ speaks better than Sinai, cannot be shaken, and is expressed in thankful, adoring imitation of the author and perfecter, Jesus Christ!  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 28, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Sacrifice and faith go hand in hand.  In this sermon from the Greater Than Series, we look to Hebrews 8 where we see that the former sacrifices of the Old Testament are not sufficient to make us perfect with God because they must be continually offered and always serve as a reminder of sin's power.  But Jesus is the greater sacrifice because His sacrifice is once for all, is effectual for perfection, and promotes love and good works in the heart of the redeemed.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 7, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

In this teaching from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley turns to Hebrews 4 to speak on the rest of Christ.  In a world where everyone is seeking to rest themselves in something, the writer of Hebrews reminds us a perfect rest remains for those who know the Christ.  In His rest, we walk in righteousness rather than weariness, we are sensitive to His leading rather than suspicious, and we can let go of our labor and take His light and easy yoke upon us.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, July 10, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Lousiana.  Thank you for listening!

Pastor Greg has already looked at I Samuel 16 during the Tragedy of King Saul series.  Today, he takes a look at Samuel's anointing of a new king with an eye, not toward the diminishing King Saul, but to the coming King David, himself a picture of Jesus.  In this anointing, we find a picture of an adoring God who loves us too much to leave us to our own devices.  With such an adoring love, how can we not respond to Him by giving ourselves completely to Him?  This teaching was presented in Sunday, April 3, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!
