In a most profound message, Pastor Adams expounds upon the blessing of Simon recorded in Matthew 16:17. Pastor Adams identifies Simon Peter as an ordinary man who lived an extraordinary life. The pastor then reflects on his 45 years of ministry and proclaiming that he too is an ordinary man who has been blessed by the grace of God to live an extraordinary life. However, like Peter, the extraordinary life was not by any merit of his own, but because of a transforming experience in which he understood that Jesus, the very God of very God, was Lord and was with him.  This experience is ours to have if we truly understand that Jesus Himself is with us... always.  This message was given in the morning service on Sunday, January 20th, 2013. This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening.

Having described Matthew 16 as the denouement of the book, we continue to explore this powerful and momentous encounter between Jesus and the disciples.  This week, Greg Whaley anchors down in the confession of Peter and Jesus' response.  We learn how a true confession is more than merely repeating some words.  It comes as a revelation of God and it is a result of our changed life.  We, like the disciples, are to learn to live by this revelation of God, rather than by reaction to the world.  This message was preached on Sunday, January 13, 2013.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening.

In the new year, Pastor Bob Adams begins a five-week sermon series entitled Essential Faith from Matthew 16.  In the first sermon, "The Question", Pastor Adams looks at Jesus' question to the disciples, "Who do people say that I am?"  The question still rings throughout the ages to us.  Is Jesus merely another god in the pantheon of gods found in a pluralistic society?  This sermon was preached on Sunday morning, January 6, 2013.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening.

Three Trees

The Christmas season is not exemplified by just the Christmas tree alone but by three trees.  In this message, Minister to Students Micah Collins shows us how the tree of knowledge, the tree of life, and the Christmas tree should all be used to define this season and help us look forward to the New Year and towards Easter.  This message was preached on Sunday, December 30, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening.
