Christmas at the IRS

As we journey into the Advent season, Pastor Bob Adams takes us to an unlikely Christmas passage - Mark 2:13-17.  This is the calling of the tax-collector disciple, Matthew (Levi).  Matthew was one of the most hated and unlikeliest of disciples.  His calling by Jesus into the apostolate is a picture of the Incarnation.  We are a messy people in a fallen place, but the good news of Christmas is that Christ came to get messy.  This sermon was preached on Sunday, November 25.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

Vocabulary of Grace: A to Z

After many wonderful months of making our way through the book of Romans, Pastor Adams comes to the end of his sermon series, Vocabulary of Grace.  In this podcast, Pastor Adams interposes the grandiose beauty of the cross with the ugliness of our lives.  Together we find that on this Thanksgiving Sunday, we believers have much to be thankful for, most especially the salvation of our messed up lives through complete and perfect plan of Almighty God.  This sermon was preached on Sunday, November 18, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening!

The Wonder of the Body

Pastor Bob Adams again takes us to the book of Romans as a part of our continuing series The Vocabulary of Grace.  In this message, Bob anchors down Romans 12:5 which states, "so we, who are many, are one body in Christ..."  We are reminded that all in Christ are a part of His body.  We are the corporate expression of the indwelling presence of Jesus Himself.  What a wonder and a grace!  This message was preached on Sunday, November 4, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening.
