Dress Like a Believer

What does it mean to dress like a believer?  In this sermon from Minister of Music Greg Whaley, the apostle Paul's exhortation to "put on Christ" in Romans 13:8-14 is examined.  A believer dressed in Christ owes nothing to anyone but love and love he owes to everyone.  A believer dressed in Christ is wide awake to the realities of sin.  A believer dressed in Christ is intentional about being a follower of Jesus.  This sermon was preached on Sunday, October 28, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening.

Gospel Living

If you were to read the book of Romans from beginning to end in one setting, you might see that it breaks into very distinctive and significant parts.  There is the greeting of the author in the first part of chapter one.  This is followed by a multi-chapter sermon where Paul delves deep into the mystery of faith, ending with a grand "amen" statement at the end of chapter 11.  Pastor Bob Adams investigates Romans 12:1-2 as Paul's invitation to for all of us to live in the gift of Christ's gospel.   This sermon was preached on Sunday, October 21, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening.

Mercy to All

As we come to the eleventh chapter, we come to an apex in Paul's epistle to the Romans: "God has shut up all in disobedience that He might show mercy to all." - Romans 11:32 (NASB).  Pastor Bob Adams explains that God's sovereignty is expressed primarily in His desire to save everyone, not just a select few people.  Again and again, the book of Romans speaks of God's desire that everyone would come to Him in faith through Jesus Christ.  This sermon was preached on Sunday, October 14, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening.

Whoever Calls

Romans 10:4 - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

In this sermon from the Vocabulary of Grace series, Pastor Adams calls us to the tenth chapter of Romans.  There we find that our salvation has nothing to do with our merit or our achievements.  It has everything to do with Jesus.  Our role is to simply and fully trust our lives over to Christ.  Who may do this?  Whoever calls.  This sermon was preached on Sunday, October 7, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, La.  Thank you for listening.

God’s People

Does God have certain kinds of people He is more willing to rescue and save than other kinds of people?  That question is at the heart of Pastor Adams' sermon, The People of God, from the Vocabulary of Grace sermon series through the book of Romans.  The answer is so stunning that it hard to believe.  However, once the answer is believed, it is so beautiful it takes the breath away. This sermon was preached on Sunday, September 30th.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening!
