Most devoted followers of Jesus yearn to be better than they are.  The question is, "How do we do that?".  In our continuing series entitled Vocabulary of Grace, Pastor Adams again takes us to the book of Romans to seek an answer to the question before us.  The answer is Christ and the secret to ever increasing Christ-likeness, ever increasing life and joy is to stop trying (obeying the law) and enter into a joy-filled, grace given life with Jesus in which He becomes our life.  This sermon was preached on Sunday morning, August 26th, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening.

Have you ever thought, "Grace teaching should not be emphasized from the pulpit because people might take it to mean that they can sin all they want.  After all, God will forgive them."?  In this sermon from Pastor Bob Adams, we come to the understanding that the very nature of the true believer makes it impossible to consider abusing grace by sinning.  If we have truly died with Christ, then our sins have been consumed in His death, and our desire to sin is changed.  Thus, we are not only forgiven of our offenses, we are changed in our very nature.  Now, we walk in newness of life, no longer a slave to our dead, sinful desires.  This sermon was preached on Sunday morning, August 19th, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening.

Salvation: Grace in Charge

Pastor Adams resumes the Vocabulary of Grace sermon series by looking at the last half of Romans 5.  These verses tell us what is wrong with us, how we got that way, and what God does in His saving work toward us.  If we are going to be truly saved, we must have our broken, twisted spiritual natures changed - and the word is changed, not healed or repaired.   Sin no longer rules, but Grace is now in charge and this is true and complete salvation. This sermon was preached on Sunday morning, August 12th, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening.

The Matrix of Love

When Christians talk of love, inevitably, the first part I Corinthians 13 weaves its way into the conversation.  But what about the last part of the chapter?  In the sermon, The Matrix of Love, Minister of Music Greg Whaley takes a look at the last part of I Corinthians.  In it, we find that Paul does not quit teaching on love but in fact continues to teach that we see and live in part because we love wrongly.  As the Spirit of God, opens our eyes to His reality of love, then we begin to love more rightly and see God more clearly.  This sermon was preached on Sunday morning, August 5th, 2012.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, LA.  Thank you for listening.
